Using Obama Cartoons to Get People Thinking

Obama cartoons are an illustrator’s best shot at political opinion. Not only do political cartoons reflect the state of the current political stand they also reflect the stand of its constituents. People in the media don’t usually get a chance to get their opinions heard, especially when they work at a newspaper but if you’re an illustrator you have the chance of getting seen in a newspaper editorial. Of course, there is stiff competition to get into the editorial pages of a newspaper so your best shot is probably just to create your own illustration and have it published elsewhere.

Obama cartoons, just like other political cartoons are pretty standard means of getting your voice heard for a couple of reasons, but mainly because they are meant to be funny. Just as satires are meant to be funny and provide some sort of political agenda, your Obama cartoons can also be considered a means to get people thinking about your political agenda.

Historically speaking political cartoons have always been a part of culture. Remember the Uncle Sam cartoons that emerged during the war? Those were obviously politically charged cartoons trying to make you believe that enlisting was the way you could help your country. Now of course, people know better and although many soldiers have risked their lives in recent wars the view is more patriotic than it is political.

If you goal is to get people to change their opinions or get them thinking then you’ve got to do it well. If you’re a good illustrator then you can do what you love but you can still stand up for something you believe in. As such you win both ways.

Ultimately everyone has an opinion but only a few people try to get other people to change their minds. What that means at the end of the day is that you can make your mark and get yourself heard even if you just create political Obama cartoons.
